Our Story
Pure Dog Chew was founded by three longtime friends: Anup Sharma, Robin Sharma, and Rabin Bhattarai. It began as a conversation about love for dogs and business, leading them back to something deeply familiar: Nepal’s traditional Himalayan cheese. This cheese had always been part of everyday life in the mountains. It was hard, nourishing, and made with care. They had a simple question: could this same traditional product be made safely and responsibly for dogs without changing what made it special?
To find the answer, the team went straight to the source. They partnered with local farmers, worked closely with traditional artisans, and focused on preserving the original process rather than speeding it up or cutting corners. Every step was shaped by patience, safety, and quality.
From the Himalayas to happy paws
Pure Dog Chew connects Nepal’s Himalayan cheese-making tradition with pet families around the world. We work with local farmers and traditional artisans in Nepal, where yak and cow milk are turned into hard cheese chews using time-honored methods.
Our original chews use four ingredients: yak milk, cow milk, lime and salt. The process includes curdling, pressing, drying and smoke curing before the chews are finished and packaged. Flavored products have their own ingredients, so always check the product page and package.
Choosing responsibly also means knowing your dog. Hard cheese chews are not suitable for every dog and can damage teeth. Choose an appropriate size, supervise every chewing session, and remove small pieces or broken chunks before they can be swallowed. Ask your veterinarian about suitability if your dog has dental concerns or dietary restrictions.
